Born to Frances Daisy (Dial) and Henry Parker Cox, Gracie was sixth of eight children.
Gracie Cox was married to Curtis Leon Ammons on Feb. 1, 1958. They had a son named Curtis Lynn Ammons in Feb. 1959, but he only lived about a month. After that, they welcomed seven more children -- five girls and two boys.
Gracie Cox Ammons was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center. Her husband and two brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by all seven children: Theresa Jewel Pinkston of Owensboro, KY; Jonathan Carey Ammons of Auburn, KY; Cathy Flora Richards, Samuel Isiah Ammons, and Rebecca Ammons all of Russellville, KY; Faith Beatrice Buck of Vienna, W.V.; and Lawanda Joy Skipworth of Scottsville, KY. Also surviving are two sisters, three brothers, fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She will be missed.
