PLEASANT VIEW -Don B. Amidan, 88, returned home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 20, 2008, at his daughter's home in Pleasant View.

He was born December 28, 1919 in Slaterville, Utah, the son of George A. and Edna R. Ekins Amidan. He attended Weber County Schools and was a graduate of I.C.S. as an auto technician.

Don married Ruth Johnson and together they were the parents of three sons, Michael (Sherae), Garry (Pat), and Ronald (Bonnie). They later divorced. Don married Lillie M. Dobbs. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised five children together: two sons, Larry (Mary), Hal, and three daughters, Judy (Ray) Christofferson, Linda Farmer, and Lori (Mark) Payne. They later divorced. Don married Ruth Cowdrey moving to Corvallis, Oregon which they called home until Ruth's death. Don then returned to Pleasant View to be closer to his family.

Don was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a great relationship with his Father in Heaven. He had been active in scouting and enjoyed working with the youth.

He made friends very easily and was always willing to help others whenever possible. Don always had a productive garden and gladly shared the produce with family and neighbors. He was very talented and was able to fix just about anything. He was very ambitious and up until the time he became ill, he always had a project to keep him busy.

He worked for D.D.O. Later he went into business with his brother-in-law and together they formed the Baugh Repair Farm Service in North Ogden. He then worked for C.U.I. International and retired from there after 25 years of service.

Don is survived by four sons and three daughters, 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Also surviving are two brothers, Ray and Lewis Amidan, two sisters, Charell Anderson and Helen Stewart, and his best friend, Ruth Barton.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, son Hal, one brother Walter and two sisters Pauline and Edith, son-inlaw Ray, grandson Eric, one great-granddaughter Brittany and one great-grandson Braden.
