Edith Mabel (Amey) Pollock 1879-154
Edith Mabel Amey was born May 5, 1879 in Arkansas City, Cowley county, Kansas, the first of five children born to Samuel Amey and Agnes Shepard (Richie) Amey.
Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Amey and Elizabeth (Clark) Amey.
Edith's four siblings include; Harry Dean Amey, Bernice Ethel (Amey) Wilson, Lena Maude (Amey) Johnson and Samuel Wayne Amey.
In the 1890s, the Amey family migrated from Kansas to Wallowa county, Oregon and Edith grew up on Crow Creek.
She married Edgar Anderson Pollock on June 2, 1896 in Wallowa county, Oregon. He was the son of Daniel Ross Pollock and Agnes Ellen (Harper) Pollock.
They became parents to three children; Dean Pollock, Lucille Agnes (Pollock) Snethen and Mary Elizabeth (Pollock) Taylor.
Edith and her family lived in the town of Joseph, in Wallowa county, Oregon, at the turn of the century, where her husband worked as a newspaper editor. She followed her husband to Sutton, Muskogee county, Oklahoma and Armstrong county, Texas. By 1925, the family was living in Twin Falls, Idaho and onto Vale, in Malheur county, Oregon by 1930. Edith and her husband returned to Wallowa county, Oregon and lived there until their deaths.
She passed away August 26, 1954 in Portland, Multnomah county, Oregon and was laid to rest, next to her husband, in the Wallowa county, outside the town of Wallowa, in Wallowa county, Oregon.
