Russell L. Amdor, 78, of Urbana, formerly of Farmer City, died April 19, 1997 at home. Funeral services were held at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City.
He was born October 27, 1918 at Sheldon, s/o Walter Lewis Amdor (1893-1962) and Rella (Dewer) Amdor (1897-1959). He married Murrel D. Brantley on May 4, 1946 at Cissna Park. She died October 17, 1984. Survivors include two sons: Russell Jr. of Hilliard OH; and Carl of Houston; a daughter, Karen Narveson of Westminster CO; six grandchildren; two brothers: Wilbur of Seymour, Iowa; and Wayne of Plant City FL; and three sisters: Evelyn Miller, Farmer City; Effie Vance of DeWitt; and Edna Daniels of Omaha.
Mr. Amdor was a retired carpenter for the University of Illinois. He was an Army veteran of WW II; member of the Weedman United Methodist Church, the Joe Williams Post 55, Farmer City; and life member of the Farmer City Veterans of Foreign Wars.
