John Bennett Amdor, 79, died at his home in Mansfield at 5:30 pm June 17, 1959. Funeral services were at 2:30 pm Friday in the Osman Lutheran church with burial in Mansfield Cemetery.
Mr. Amdor was born December 21, 1879 at Manchester IN, s/o James and Mary Winegard Amdor. He was the oldest of 10 children. He married Clara E. Bidner (1881-1966)on February 19, 1905 and spent his entire married life on a farm near Mansfield. Mr. Amdor is survived by his wife; a son, Roy of Farmer City; a daughter, Mrs. Mable Hawthorn, Saybrook; three brothers; Charles of Bellflower; Elmer of Mahomet; and Walter of LeRoy; four sisters: Mrs. Jenny Fillenwarth of Foosland; Mrs. Veran Adams of Mahomet; Mrs. Anna Lugring of Tiffin OH; and Effie Amdor of Cincinnati OH; six grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
