Karen Lynn Ambrose, 62 of Gill, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit in Greeley.

She was born on September 27, 1949 in Brighton, Colorado to Don and Ruth (Walker) Rhoads. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Ruth and Dean Merrill.

Karen married James F. Ambrose on July 20, 1996 at the Galeton Community Church. She worked as a nurses aid for RVNA and also worked for Bennett's Cleaners in Greeley. She loved living in the country and her cats and dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Ambrose of Gill; her step father, Dean Merrill of Iowa; a daughter, Rhonda Coronado of Denver; a son, Randy Dilka of California; a step daughter, Megan Ambrose of Reno, Nevada; a sister, Betty Whitcom of Eaton; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Merrill and 3 sisters, Donna Jackson, Janice Foose and Nancy Jo Rhoads.

A funeral service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Galeton Community Church. Interment will follow in the Eaton Cemetery. Karen's wishes were to have no visitation.
