BIRCH VAIDEN AMBROSE, 83, of the 100 block of West Leicester Ave, a retired custodial supervisor, died May 16, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital. Mr. Ambrose was born in South Norfolk, the son of Edith Roger Thomas and Joseph Gray Ambrose. He retired in 1977 from the Social Services office, city of Norfolk; and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Norfolk; Fleet Reserve Association, Branch (NU)60; and the South Norfolk Old Timers Club, Chesapeake. He was a World War II veteran and retired as a Navy chief petty officer after 21 1/2 years.
