Mrs. Alward was born Feb 3, 1926, in Paxico, Kan. to John and Dena Meinhardt, and attended schools in Kansas. She was married on Oct 9, 1948, in Kansas to Don Alward.
Mrs. Alward came to Port Angeles from Bellingham in 1951.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Scott C. of Satsop and Brad M. of Port Angeles; four daughters, Erin M. Alward of Alaska, and Darcy A. Loomis, Toni A. Alward and Kerry P. Alward all of Port Angeles; five brothers, Otto Meinhardt of Kansas, Fred Meinhardt of Oak Harbor, John Meinhardt of Washington D.C., and Leo and Dick Meinhardt, both of Seattle; three sisters, Rita Meinhardt and Lucy Breitenstein of Kansas and Dorothy Schuler of Seattle; and one granchild.
