She was a member of Vandola Baptist Church. She lived her early years in Pelham, N.C., and had lived most of her life in Danville.
She had worked at Belk Leggetts, Dan River Mills, but lived most of her life as a homemaker.
She married the late William Franklin Alcorn Sr, (Billy) on July 4; 1941. He preceded her in death on Feb.3, 1990.
She is survived by daughters; Rebecca (Becky) A. Harris and husband Carl, of Danville, a daughter Brenda A. DeVall and husband Donnie, of Danville; a son William Franklin Alcorn Jr. (Franky) and wife Luona, of Belews Creek, N.C.; two sisters; Ruby A. Slayton and husband Wallace of Danville, Annie Mae A. Strader of Reidsville N.C.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one sister Margaret A. Fitzgerald; two half-brothers, Uel Alverson and Elmer Alverson; and three half- sisters, Louise A. Everett, Ellen A. Pillar and Frances A. Roach.
