Lifelong Waukesha resident Julio Alvarez Jr., 63, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, from an industrial accident. He was born in Waukesha on Jan. 5, 1943, to Julio and Gregoria (Garcia) Alvarez Sr.
He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He enjoyed bingo, pool, dogs and all animals, his music and Harleys. He was a wonderful grandfather and will be deeply missed by his grandchildren and entire family.
He is survived by his wife, Kristy (nee Blankenheim) Alvarez; his children, Julio "Chubby" (Christine) Alvarez, Tom (Lisa) Alvarez, Ronnie Alvarez, Robert Alvarez, Rosie (Jimmy) Medina, Anna (Jason) Cleveland and Julio Ramon Alvarez, all of Waukesha; stepchildren, Gina Diaz and Katie Blankenheim, both of Waukesha; grandchildren, Julia, Julio, Courtney, Lindsay, Thomas, Michael, Jolean, Jimmy, Jenna, Justine, Diana and Javier; a brother, Andre (Carmen) Alvarez of Waukesha; two sisters, Lupe (Manuel) Villarreal of Waukesha and Mary (Jose) Ramirez of Milwaukee; and his mother, Gregoria of Milwaukee. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Julio Alvarez Sr.
Visitation for Julio will be held from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, with a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m. Prayers begin at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Joseph's Catholic Church for an 11 a.m. funeral Mass. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
