Alfred was drafted into the Army 21 December 1965.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 9 November 1966, Alfred was assigned to A Company, 22nd Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, USARV. A Company was operating in the vicinity of Nai Ban Den Mountain and 11 kilometers north northeast of Tay Ninh City, when the company encountered hostile forces. Alfredo died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile rifle fire.
Survived by his wife, Margaret C Alvarado of 1521 Freeman Avenue, Long Beach, and his parents, Mr & Mrs Trinidad of 21519 Pioneer Street, Lakewood, California.
