CLARA RACHAEL ALTIS

Clara Rachael Holden was born in Anderson County, Kansas on April 7, 1883 to John and Sarah Palmer Holden and passed away in the Greenwood County Hospital at Eureka, Kansas on January 5, 1973, at age 89 years, eight months and 29 days.

At an early age she was united and baptized with the Church of the Brethren. In 1908 she was united in marriage to John Henry Altis and to this union five children were born. Her husband and two sons have preceded her in passing.

She will be sadly missed by her survivors; a daughter, Ethel Sigman, Elk Creek, Mo., two sons, Arthur, Eureka, Kansas, and Herbert, Kirkwood, Mo., one sister, Mrs. Anna Fields, Hutchison, Kansas, 31 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren, also a host of other relatives and many friends.

Services were held 2 p.m. Monday in the Elliott-Gentry Chapel with Rev. Payton Smyer and Rev. Lois Starmer officiating. Burial was in Cabool cemetery.
