Minerva Altemose was born on 21 Apr 1865, in Scranton, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Perry Altemose and Lydia Ann Bonser. Her parents were natives of Monroe County, Pennsylvania and would later accompany Minerva and her husband to Washington Territory.

Five year old Minerva appears in the 1870 federal census as living in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe, Pennsylvania. She is in the household of her father, a laborer. Her mother and brothers are also in the household.

On 21 June 1880, Minerva was located in the 1880 census living in Tunkhannock, Monroe, Pennsylvania. She was 15, living in her fathers household, her parents were 39 and 36, her father was a laborer and both her parents suffered from Rheumatism, her brothers were James, Alvin, Robert, and Wilson.

On 3 March 1886, 20-year-old Minerva Altemose married 18-year-old Eugene Woolbert. They were married in Columbia, Warren, New Jersey and would be the parents of 8 children.

Sometime after their marriage, probably in 1887, since their daughter Jane was born in Washington Territory in 1888, Eugene and Minerva went to the Pacific Northwest. It isn't known how they got to Washington territory but the likeliest is they took a train since the railroad boomed in the 1880's. The could have taken a train to Minnesota and from Minnesota taken a train to Yakima, and from Yakima went on to Seattle.

The first record of Eugene and Minerva in the Pacific Northwest is the 1889 Skagit County census. This was taken on 1 April 1889, he is listed as white, male, and aged 21-years. Minerva is listed as 21, and daughter Jane is listed as being 1, and born in Washington Territory. Eugene also appears in the city directory for the same year and is listed as a laborer.

Over the next couple years, Eugene and Minerva would become the parents of 6 children. These children were Jane born in 1888 and died before 1900, Melyann born in April of 1889, a still born daughter was born in November of 1892, Arthur in June 1895, and twins Joseph and James in January of 1898.

On 5 June 1900, Minerva appears in the 1900 federal census. She is living at 1107 Lane Street, Seattle, Washington. She and Eugene were born in Pennsylvania, he is 32, she is 34, they had been married 13-years, had 6 children, four were still living, he worked as a bridge foreman and owned their home free and clear. Also in the household are Annie, Arthur aged 4, twins James and Joseph aged 2. Her brother in law Jacob woolbert aged 23 and her brothers Robert and Wilson Altemose ages 26 and 22 are also living in the house.

During the years 1904 and 1905 and 1907, Eugene was also included in the city directory. This time his address was listed as 909 Lane with the occupation of Bridge Foreman.

On 20 April 1910, Minerva was included in the 1910 US census. She was living at 909 9th Ave South, Seattle, Washington. Her husband is the head of household, he is 42, she is 45, They have been married for 23–years and have 8 children, 6 are living. He is listed as a bridge Forman. They own their home free and clear and they have 6 children, Annie aged 21, Arthur aged 14, James and Joseph aged 12, Rosa aged 8, and Minerva aged 2.

According to the 1911 city directory for Seattle, Washington, Minerva is listed as living at 4259 8th Ave NE with her husband. He gives his occupation as a bridge Forman. Their sons and daughter are also listed under the same address.

On 9 January 1920, Minerva was included in the 1920 Federal Census for Seattle, King, Washington. She is living at 4249 8th Ave NE, with her husband, her children Joseph, Rosa, and Minerva. They own their house mortgage free and gives her husband gives his occupation as foreman for the railroad.

In the 1924, City directory for Seattle, Eugene and Minerva are listed as living at 4259 8th av NE, and he gives his occupation as bridge foreman.

On 9 January 1930, Minerva Woolbert nee Altemose passed away. She passed away in their home of Cerebral apoplexy and was 64-years-old
