Robert McKinley Alston, son of the late Mr. Robert H. Alston, Sr. and Mrs. Eula B. Alston, began his life on September 17, 1936 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina.

His formal education was received in the public school system at John Armstrong High School, Halifax County, North Carolina. At an early age, he accepted Christ, was baptized, and joined Zion Hill Church in Littlejohn, North Carolina. Later he became a member of the Antioch Christian Church, Varnville, South Carolina.

He was predeceased by his brother, Willis L. Alston.

He had a great passion for driving trucks. He was the greatest grandfather and uncle to his grandchildren, nieces, and nephew. He didn't just love one, he loved them all.
