Sadie Johnson

Sadie Gibbs Johnson, 81, of Georgetown died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Tidelands Community Hospice.

Funeral will be Monday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Bethel AME Church. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. until the service at the church.

Daughter of the late Edward Alston and the late Louise Gibbs Alston, Mrs. Johnson attended Georgetown County Public Schools and was a member of Bethel AME Church,

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and former teacher at Miss Ruby's School in Pawleys Island.

Survivors include children: Charles Johnson of Georgetown, the Rev. Benjamin Johnson and John Johnson of Pawleys Island, Bernadette Kollbrand of South Koreaq and Gayle Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; siblings: Donald Gibbs, Charles Reid Sr., and Jane Thomas, all of Georgetown, John Brown of Pawleys Island and Beatrice Cox of The Bronx, N.Y.
