RACINE - Robert E. Alsten, 68, passed away unexpectedly due to an aneurysm Monday, April 7, 2008, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee. Robert was born in Chicago, Ill. May 31, 1939, son of the late Marcella Schwartz and Ewald Alsten. On September 22, 1962, he was united in marriage to Faith Elizabeth Wolf, who preceded him in death November 23, 1987. Robert served with the Caledonia Police Department for 16 years, until his retirement in 1986. Robert was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed collecting jukeboxes, 45's, nostalgia memorabilia, and time spent at the Jellystone Park. Above all, he treasured being with the family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include his five children, Barbara Davis (Chris Strasser), Marianne (Pete) Madden, Rob Alsten, Pam (Bart) Gende, Pete (Wanda) Alsten; his grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, and Craig Davis, Sean, Erin, and Emma Madden, Sam Gende, Owen Alsten; brother, Dwight Lee; sister, Joyce Hurthibise; brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Chuck (Mary Lee) Wolf, Lura Lee (Bill) Reif, Marge Wolf, John (Carol Ann) Wolf, Al (Betty) Wolf, Philip (Diane) Wolf; special niece, Linda (Dan) Brachmann; nephew, Tom Hurthibise; other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 725 High Street, Friday, April 11, 2008, 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Warber officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
