Virginia (Vergie) Storey Edlebeck, 87, Green Bay, our beloved sister, aunt and sister-in-law with beautiful blue eyes, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 4, 2005. She was born on April 26, 1917, to the late Phillip and Anna (Vaness) Alsteen on the Belgium Road, Lena.

She was a graduate of Lena High School and St. Mary Nursing School in Green Bay. Vergie was a company nurse at Evenrude Motors in Milwaukee for 21 years. She also worked at A.G. Holley State Hospital, Florida, for 10 years, working with AIDS patients. She was an active volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul Store.

Survivors include one brother, Leland Alsteen, Lena; and one sister-in-law, Leona Alsteen, Oconto Falls; three stepchildren, Marlene Lewandowski, Billy Edlebeck and Norman Edlebeck.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dee Storey and Joseph Edlebeck; four brothers, Raymond, Ed (Violet), Wilfred and Ernest (Lorraine); one sister, Marie (Fred) Johnson; one sister-in-law, Viola Alsteen; two stepchildren, Leo Haskell and Phyliss Downey.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at the funeral home with Father Harry Beerntsen officiating. Burial at St. Charles Cemetery, Lena.
