Harley Elmer ALSBURY, 81, of 610 W. Oak St., West Frankfort, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Granite City.
He was born in Illinois, March 1, 1888, the son of James and Sarah Jane SMITH ALSBURY. He was married to the former Alma DARNELL in Benton in 1911. He was a retired miner and last worked at Waltonville.
He is survived by his wife, Alma, of West Frankfort; sons, Kenneth and William, both of Madison; sisters, Mrs. Nell TINDALL of Royalton, Mrs. Kate JONES and Mrs. Ann CALDWELL, both of Christopher, and Mrs. Emmy WEBB of Mulkeytown; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Funeral Home, West Frankfort, with the Rev. Max SAMPLES officiating. Burial will be in Denning Cemetery, West Frankfort.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
