Austin R. Alpaugh was in the grocery business on South Main Street in Phillipsburg for about 40 years. He retired two years ago.
He was a native of Little York and for a number of years was in the grocery business in that village with his father, having a business named Alpaugh & Son.
Survived by a widow, one daughter, Mrs. Samuel J. Aires, Jr., and a grandson, Samuel J. Aires, Jr. of Phillipsburg.
He was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Easton, Pa.
