Old age combined with an illness covering a period of several years contributed to the death January 1 of Mrs. Catherine Rieck Allwardt, wife of John Allwardt, of Plymouth. Death occurred at their home on Main Street in that city. Mrs. Allwardt was a native of Mechlenberg, Schwerin, Germany, born May 5, 1845, and was approaching her seventy-seventh year. She and her husband came to Sheboygan County in 1873, in which year they married in Germany. They lived on various farms in the county in the neighborhood of Plymouth, until seven years ago when they retired and made their home in Plymouth.
The deceased is survived by her husband and the following sons; Edward of Fredonia, Wis., Morris of Jordan Valley, Ore.; George on the old homestead; August of Spokane, Wash.; and Alvin of Rhine Center. Two brothers, John Rieck of Milwaukee and Joseph Rieck of Plymouth also survive.
