Billy L. Allsbrook Billy was born to Rufus and Sophia Allsbrook. He came to know Christ as his Savior when he was 12 years old in Aston Chapel in a revival led by Evangelist Joe Carl Johnson. Billy was baptized when he was 17 years old at First Baptist Church of Fort Worth by George Norris, son of J. Frank Norris. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Euless.
Billy graduated from Farmersville High School in May 1942. He entered the U.S. Army for active duty Nov. 30, 1943, and joined the 9th Infantry Division in August 1944. His division contained some of the first American foot soldiers to enter Germany on Sept. 11, 1944, and he was a survivor of the Battle of the Huertgen Forest.
The division was awarded the Fourragere for the liberation of Belgium and he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for service. Billy deeply loved and was deeply loyal to his country.
Upon his return from the war, he attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth on the GI Bill and graduated in 1949. Shortly thereafter, he went to work for General Dynamics (Lockheed) in Fort Worth where he worked for 19 years and retired in 1973.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors: Daughter, Carolyn Quinn and beloved son-in-law, Pilson; granddaughters, Melanie Coffman and fiancÚ, Aaron Sirovica, Colleen Liebert and husband, Richard; great-granddaughter, Jillian Liebert; sister, Linda Bass and husband, Gordon; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom were very special to him.
