Wife of Arthur Kenneth Allred

Carma Rae Allred 1931 ~ 2010 Carma Rae Simmons Allred returned to her Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of March 9, 2010. She died with her devoted husband and children by her side after many years of struggling with her health.She was born Nov. 2, 1931 in Hiawatha, Utah to Clifford E. and Amy Laurette Hicks Simmons. She had one brother, Gene, who died at 18 months before she was born. She attended Carbon High School where she was a cheerleader and graduated in 1949. She briefly attended Carbon College which is now the College of Eastern Utah. She met her sweetheart, Arthur Kenneth Allred, in Carbon County before he joined the US Navy. They were married Nov. 3, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah after he returned from service. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Hiawatha where she was a secretary for the US Fuel Company. In 1954 they moved to Granger, Utah where they have resided for the last 55 years. They have two children, Kathryn Diane and Kenneth James and four grandchildren. She spent her married life raising her children and making her home a lovely place to be. She was an excellent cook and loved being fashionable. She played the piano and especially enjoyed dancing with her husband, Ken, for many, many years. They spent time camping and traveled to many fun places. As an only child she was devoted to her parents and lovingly took care of them in their declining years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several callings, her favorites being Ward Relief Society Historian and, along with her husband, Ward Dance Directors. She loved her family more than anything and was so grateful for her husband who cared for her night and day during the many years of her illnesses. Her children and grandchildren were her delight. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Carma is survived by her husband, Ken; children: Kathy, Jim (Becky); grandchildren: Amy, Anika (Nate), Ashlen and Andrew; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hilton; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene; brother-in-law, Tom Hilton. Funeral services will be held Sat., March 13, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Granger 6th Ward, 3276 S. Hillsdale Dr. (2760 West). Viewings will be held Friday, March 12, 2010, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
