Charlotte Alice Heberley was born on 30 September 1879 in Marlborough to Joseph and Martha Heberley. She married Alfred Allport on 18 May 1898. They had five children in 13 years. Known as Alice, she died on 18 March 1953 in Te Puke at the age of 73, and was buried in the Old Te Puke Cemetery.
