Mrs. Eliza Jane Alloway, died Thursday afternoon, at a quarter past 2 o'clock, at her residence, No. 37 Sixth avenue, of rheumatism, from which disease she had been a patient sufferer for the past seven years.

The deceased was a highly respected lady and was well known throughout the city, having lived in the community for the past eight years.

She was born September 20, 1824, and was consequently aged 65 years, 7 months and 18 days at the time of her death. For many years she lived at Baker's mines, and the family came to this city about twenty years ago.

Seven children survive to mourn the loss of an ever kind mother, they being John Alloway and Mrs. Jennie Kennedy, of Chicago; Mrs. Mary Shannon of Beaver county, Pa.; Mrs. Annie McKnight, of Logan township, and William and James B. Alloway, being at the parental residence. A sister, Mrs. Mary Pressell, of this city, and a brother, Mr. Thomas Pates, of Millville, also survive.

The funeral will take place this afternoon leaving the late residence at 2 o'clock, to proceed to the Fifth avenue Methodist Episcopal church, where the funeral service will be conducted by ???? (Can't read) pastor, assisted by Rev. Colburn. The interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
