George Alliston was the son of John and Lucy Alliston, one of ten children.
He and his wife Elizabeth had two sons George, Jr and Jerry.
He was a longtime resident of Wiggins and a retired minister of House of Prayer in Bond, MS. He was the owner of Alliston's Grocery and Seafood and Wiggins Sports Hut.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy Alliston, Sr., two daughters, Linda Jean Alliston and Susan Alliston Bond, brother, John C. Alliston, Jr., two sisters, Fay Alliston and Dee Alliston.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Alliston of Wiggins, two sons, George Alliston, Jr. of Wiggins and Dr. Jerry Alliston (Nellie) of Hattiesburg, two brothers, James R. Alliston of Rice, VA and Albert Alliston of Gulfport, four sisters, Ruby Fayard, Irene Thensted, Evelyn Rockwell, and Mary Hahn (Danny) all of Ocean Springs, MS, five grandchildren, Meghann Thatcher of Wiggins, Cassie Thatcher of Columbia, MS, Andy Thatcher of Wiggins, Madison Alliston and Samantha Alliston, both of Hattiesburg, four great-grandchildren, Tucker Williamson, June Williamson, and Wyatt Williamson, all of Columbia, MS and Makenna McCarty of Oxford, MS.

Services were held at 10:00am Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Moore funeral home chapel in Wiggins with interment following in Rouse Cemetery in Saucier.
