Frankie Grindstaff Allison

Frankie Grindstaff Allison, age 88, of Old Fort, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at Asheville Health Care Center.
Born in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late William Garret Grindstaff and Mary Woody Grindstaff.
Mrs. Allison was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Allison, Sr.; one infant son, Ray Dean Allison; four brothers, Robert, George, Branson and Malgram Grindstaff; and four sisters, Hartley Marsh, Gertrude Noblitt, Katherine Jones and Juanita Setzer.
Surviving Mrs. Allison are one son, Paul E. Allison Jr. and wife, Wilma, of Old Fort; one daughter, Ava A. Gibbs and husband, Frank "Butch" Gibbs of Old Fort; four grandchildren, Greg S. Allison, Mary Beth Allison, Stephen E. Allison and Joshua M. Gibbs; five great-grandchildren; and also surviving are four sister-in-laws, Dorothy Grindstaff, Ollie Grindstaff, Thelma and Edna Allison.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2007 at Kirksey Chapel in Old Fort with Rev. David Hawkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Siloam-Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's choice, Ebenezer United Methodist Church or Old Fort United Methodist Church, both in Old Fort.
