Services for Helen Janette (Jan) Woods of Mt. Pleasant, TX will be held May 31, 2008 at Rose Chapel officiated by Bro. Gary Baird and Bill Locke.
Woods was born February 11, 1936 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Ethelyn and T.E. (Slats) Allison. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2008 with her children by her side. She battled a long and arduous battle against liver and kidney disease, all the while never complaining and maintaining her wonderful sense of humor. Jan graduated from Sayre High School in 1954 and continued her education at Sayre Junior College. She was married to Dan Walter Woods at Sayre, OK. Although she lived most of her adult life in Texas, Sayre remained her home and now appropriately her final resting place. She was a devoted wife and mother, a loving grandmother, and a great friend to anyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include one son Samuel Mark Woods and wife, Zann of Mt. Pleasant, TX; two daughters, Lori Hendley & husband, Greg of McKinney, TX and Allison Muntz & Husband, Randy of Pittsburg, TX; six grandchildren; one brother, Sam Allison & wife, Margaret of Arvada, CO and a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
