An Esteemed Lady Passes Away

The country was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Louisa Allison of Monroe township. Mrs. Allison had been in
her usual good health, attending to the duties of the farm until Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, when she was taken suddenly sick of pleurisy and pneumonia. A physician was called Wednesday but with all medical aid could do, she gradually sank until Sunday, December 6, when she passed away at 10 p.m. at the age of 58 years and 11 months. She was the
daughter of Samuel and Sarah Kerr, and in her girlhood days united with the Presbyterian church at Hopewell and remained a faithful member until her death. She was united in marriage Feb. 12, 1880, to Herbert V. Allison, who preceded her in death 4 years. To this union were born 8 children, three of whom died in infancy. Five children survive - three sons and two daughters. The sons are Earl B. Allison of Barberton, Ohio; Harry Glenn of South Bend, Ind., Bertram J. and the two daughters, Anna and Leah, aged 16 and 9 years respectively at home. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Geo. E. Arnold of Akron, who with the sons and daughters desire to express their heartfelt thanks to all the kind friends who so kindly rendered aid and sympathy during their sad bereavement; to the quartet and to Rev. Marston and Rev. Wilson for their words of comfort. That He who "tempers the wind to the shorn lamb" is ever ready to lay that unseen arm of protection around all those who place their confidence in Him, and such is the exemplary life of Mother Allison. And her greatest pleasure was the care of her household and the care and welfare of her children. By her death the family loses and affectionate, kind and loving mother, the neighborhood a good neighbor, and the public a respected friend. All of whom would say

Life's work well done.
Life's race well run.
Life's crown well worn.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Allison and son, Herbert, of Barberton; H. G. Allison of South Bend, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. E. Arnold and son, Grover of Akron, and daughter, Mrs. Howard A. Engel of Orrville; Wm. Frazier of Medina; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Andress of Shreve; O. C. P. Peckham of Big Prairie; Llellyn Bell of Barberton, and Mrs. Samuel Jordan of Glenmont.
