Surprise Party Held For 50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Allison of 232 Carolina Ave., Chester, were surprised with a family get-together in a belated observance of their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Adams of Lisbon. A buffett luncheon was served to 32 from a table centered with a large decorated cake. The honored couple received a money tree. They were married on her birthday, May 25, 1928, by the Rev. Richard M. Fowler in the Methodist Church of Beaver. Mrs. Allison is the former Margaret Seevers, the oldest of six children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Seevers. In 1931, both parents died within three months of each other and Mr. and Mrs. Allison assumed the responsibility of raising the family. All of the sisters and brothers were present for the party. They are Mrs. Adams (Helen), James Seevers of Newell, Glenn Seevers of Chester, Richard Seevers of Dayton and Jean Seevers of Chester. Mr. Allison retired in 1971 after 43 years with the Homer Laughlin China Co., where he worked as a decorator kiln hand. For many years he served as secretary of Local 124 IBOP.
