Sara E. Ward
Services are Sara E. Ward, 79, 1500 E. 18th, 2 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, the Rev. Pauls Mills conducting rites. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemtery.
Mrs. Ward died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was born July 23, 1906, in Chatanooga, Tenn., to James Frank and Ruth Victoria Keen and came to this area in 1947. She graduated from high school at Okmulgee, attended Stephens College and graduated from East Central University in 1950.
She was associated with the Homer Peay Insurance Agency here for many years, was a member of Ada Garden Club and Fortnightly Study Club and attended the First Christian Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Class.
She and Winslow B. married in Okmulgee in 1926. He died March 4, 1969 in Ada.
Survivors include two sons, Barney Ward, Ada and Dick Ward, Corydon, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. T.L. Stewart, Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Ralph Evans, Howard Whitlock, Dick Cope, A.C. Kinyon, Morris Poe, and George Thompson.
