Black Mountain - Edith Hudgins (Granny) Allison, 91, of Black Mountain left this world to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the wife of the late Luther Allison and the daughter of the late Martin and Bertha Lunsford Hudgins and loving stepfather Emory (Daddy) Hudgins.. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by sons; Bobby Allison, Billy Allison sisters; Thelma Springstead, Edna Bauer, Effie Sandifer, Ethel Morris; grandchildren; Steve Allison, Dewayne Allison; a great great grandson; Joshua Treadway. There are no words to express the love, caring and acceptance she gave everyone. "Granny Edith" opened her heart and arms to all who crossed within her path, and shared with them her loving spirit, giving nature and quick wit. She truely was a angel, lent to us to embody and prove God's love. She will be missed greatly but not forgotten in our hearts.
She is survived by her children Earl and Peggy Allison; Howard and Anne Allison; Elizabeth and Richard Cook; sister; Dot Kennedy; brother; Osbourne E. Hudgins, fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren and an additional three soon to be here; numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park
