Elizabeth A. "Betty" Allison, 89, of Copeland Oaks, died on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at 6:20 a.m.
A life resident of Alliance, she was born on Jan. 3, 1915, and attended Kent State University and Mount Union College.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She and her husband were former residents of Desert Shadows Resort in Phoenix, Ariz.
She retired, after more than 40 years of employment, from Rodman Public Library as head of the circulation department.She was a member of the Mount Union Womens Club, and the Retired Librarians Association. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include her husband, S. Howard Allison, they were married on April 9, 1943; two sons, Fred Allison of Marion and Ted R. Allison of East Liverpool; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary June James of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Ambrose and Alice Margaret Gallagher; a grandson, Cary Samples; a sister, Virginia Hotchkiss; and a brother, Frederick P. Gallagher.
