COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Grady Wade Allison, 66, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Homes. Burial will
follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Veterans Section, with full military honors.
A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 25, at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 1-9 p.m. today, Aug. 25, and from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home.
Mr. Allison died on Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at his residence after an extended illness with cancer.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1931, in DeKalb County to the late Bertie Monroe and Mollie Mae Carter Allison.
In July of 1952, he married Geneva Ann Pippin, who survives. Mr. Allison served for 42 years in the Army National Guard, retiring in October of 1991 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four. He completed his career by serving overseas in Desert Storm. Mr. Allison had a passion for flying and received his pilot's license in the mid 1960's. He became an airplane pilot instructor and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was also an FAA inspector.
In addition to his love for airplanes, he was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Mr. Allison served as a Mason and Shriner for 43 years and was a member and retired Deacon of Eastwood Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, his family also includes three sons, Mark Allison of Cookeville, Shawn Allison of San Francisco, Calif., and Creill Allison of Nashville; a daughter, Sonya Presley of Cookeville; and two grandchildren, Jeremey Wade Morris and Devan Dawn Allison.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Megan Nichole Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and trustees, pilots and close friends of Mr. Allison.

Bros. Carlos Walker and Lester Flatt will officiate at the services.
