He was a life long member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. He was a 1945 graduate of PHS and member of the Big Red Band, Private First Class in The US Army serving in WWII, and retired from Krogers with 42 years of service. His hobbies included; gardening, wood working, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Evelyn (Schofield) Allio of Mineral Wells, two sons; Randy Allio & Wife Janet of Charleston, WV, and Jeff Allio of Matthews, NC, three sisters; Florence Allio of Port Charlotte, FL, Vera Smith of Mogadore, OH, and Helen Carper of Port Charlotte, FL, Two grandchildren; Emily Strickland & husband Michael of Charleston, WV, and Jeremy Allio of Morgantown, two great grandchildren; Brett and Leah Strickland, several nieces and nephews, and special pet and companion Cammi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers; Carl & Floyd Allio, and sister; Mina Melrose.
Services will be Monday 11:00 AM at The Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Danny McVey officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He will be honored with Military Graveside rites by the West Virginia Honor Guard.
