Rosalee Allgood, 103, of Owensboro, formerly of Henderson, went to her heavenly home at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. She was the oldest resident at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born on Jan. 30, 1907, in Evansville to Elmer and Nora Willingham, the first of their three daughters. She was married on Jan. 12, 1924, to the late Bethel Allgood. As a mother of three, she also worked alongside her husband at Allgood Poultry and Cream for many years.

Rosalee lived a simple life and was known by everyone as a strong Christian woman who loved serving the Lord. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for more than 65 years and was the church's oldest member. She taught Sunday school, worked in the Bible school, faithfully attended church services and was a great prayer warrior. The love of the Lord, winning others to Christ and going to heaven were the most important things to her. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Rosalee loved dolls, sewing, quilting and gardening. She brought joy to lots of little girls with her talents of making doll cloths and furniture.

She loved her family and was cherished by them. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Robert Allgood; a daughter, Kathleen Henderson; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Vinecke of Philpot; five grandchildren, Patricia Buchanan of Owensboro, Robert Allgood Jr. (Patti) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Debbie Crowe (Hurshel) of Philpot, Becky Sebree (Buck) of Philpot and Robin Antey (Tim) of Evansville; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at United Church of the Nazarene in Henderson, with the Rev. Keith Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
