ROANOKE —Edd Alley, age 94, of 1503 Twenty-third Street, Roanoke and formerly of Pulaski passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 23, 1904 in Austinville (Wythe County), he was a son of the late Robert Alley and Delia Mabe Alley.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Bill Alley.

He was a member of the Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise, Roanoke.

He was a retired carpenter.

Surviving is his wife of 74 years, Beulah Alma O'Bryan Alley; daughter and son-in-law, Marguerite "Pansy" Alley McMillan and James McMillan of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Jerry, George, Joey, Jan and families of Roanoke, and Bill, Peggy, Linda and families of Ohio; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Edith Jarrells of Ohio; and a special nephew and wife, Bill and Polly Alley of Irving, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise, 8100 Angel Lane, Roanoke, with the Rev. Harry Miller, Jr. officiating. A graveside funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Appalachian Conference Cemetery, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise, Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Alley suggested that donations be made to the Avante Adult Care Activities Fund, 324 King George Ave., S. W., Roanoke, VA 24016. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.
