ANNA MARELDER,GARET ALLEY - passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010. She was raised in Jellico, TN by her grandparents, Alex and Laura Bunch Houseley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Bunch Alley and Samuel L. Alley; sister, Marjorie Reed and her husband, Walter L. Reed, Sr.; sister, Betty Lou Alley; and brother, Samuel L. Alley. She is survived by husband of 63 years, Curtis W. Elder; daughter, Sara L. Elder of Washington D.C.; sisters: Daisy Ware and husband, Rev. Carl Ware and Mary Jane Gann. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church for 66 years, and she was retired from J.C. Penney Co. and Clift Chrysler Plymouth. After her retirement she worked on family genealogy, which she greatly enjoyed. She also loved working in the yard and taking trips to the beach and the New England states. Special thanks to her sisters in law, Joyce Atchley of Knoxville and Emma Catlett of Kodak, as well as Curtis' nephew, John Atchley and his wife, Sandra, of Knoxville for their help over the past 3 years. Thanks to her caregivers for the past year: Nina, Krystal, Josh and Vivian. Also, thanks to the wonderful people St. Mary's Hospice and the 8th floor nurses and assistants at U.T, Hospital. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 1:30-3:00pm at Berry Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday, February 15, 2010 in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. David Ward officiating.
