Mrs. Alley was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church, and owned and operated Marlene's Fabrics on Sano Road, Columbia, for many years
Marlene Alley, 65, of Sano Road, Columbia, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008, at 2:24 am, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 1:00 pm CT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, Kentucky, with Bro. Ralph Foster and Bro. Willard Bryant the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Free Union Cemetery.
She was born September 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Ralph and Cathrean Loy Richardson.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Alley, Columbia, Kentucky, and the following:
• One daughter: Angela Hargis and her husband Darien, Russell Springs, Kentucky
• Two sons: Timothy Alley and his wife Jennifer, and Darwin Alley and his wife Melissa, all of Columbia, Kentucky
• Five brothers: Marion Richardson, Glenn Richardson, Carl Richardson, Boyd Richardson, all of Russell Springs, Kentucky; and Danny Richardson of Lexington, Kentucky
• Three sisters: Becky Darnell, Russell Springs, Kentucky; Dale Stilts, Columbia, Kentucky; and Kathy Holt, Casey County, Kentucky
• Nine grandchildren, a special Aunt, Marie Guess, Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews
• And a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the New Friendship United Baptist Church in Russell County and was the owner of Marlene Fabrics on the Sano Road, Columbia, Kentucky, for several years.
