Martha J. Alley was born in Veva, Indiana, May 30th, 1858, died June 15, 1923, at Bethany, Mo., where she was visiting her daughter Mrs. W. B. Selby.
She was the mother of ten children, five of whom preceded her to the great beyond. Those living are sons N. E. Alley, R. F. Alley, J. C. Alley, W. B. Alley and Mrs. W. B. Selby.
Mrs. Alley was one of the pioneers of Stroud, they having owned the homestead, which is now known as the Alley addition to the Town of Stroud.
She was a good woman and dearly loved by all who knew her.
The remains were shipped to Bristow and the R. J. Miller hearse conveyed them to the cemetery Monday, June 18th and the services were conducted at the grave at 3 P.M. by Rev. A. W. Fawcett.
The deepest sympathy is extended the bereaved children.
