Junior was born February 1, 1935, in Big Rapids, Michigan, the son of Albert and Doris (Allison) Allers, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1953. He served with the U.S. Army for two years. Following his discharge, he returned to the area where he had lived.
For over 30 years, Junior owned and operated Allers Septic Service.
He was a longtime member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Paris, and the Knights of Columbus. Junior was also an active member of the Big Rapids Aerie Eagles #2535, and was a founding member of the Paris Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.
In 1955, he married Anna Mae Battle, who preceded him in death in 1993.
Surviving are his special friend, Judy Battle; his children, Suzie Williams of Reed City, Krisie (Steve) Dibble of Holland, Karen (Carl) Windquist of Big Rapids, Larry Allers of Paris, Kevin (Denise) Allers of Paris, Jackie (Mike) Ayris of Shepherd, Billy (Rachel) Allers of Paris, and Elizabeth (Chris) Johnson of Reed City; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Virginia (Eugene) Polhamus of Paris, Maxine Smith of Muskegon, Shirley (Jesse) Norton of Howard City, Bonnie Johnson of Muskegon; 5 brothers, Raymond (Leola) of Big Rapids, Frank (Deanna) of Rodney, Kenny (Geri) of Big Rapids, Dale (Kathy) of Cedar Springs, and Gordy (Joan) of Big Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. Junior was also preceded in death by his brother Virgil and his sister Arlene Spedowski.
Visitation: Junior's family will greet friends from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, and at the church prior to the Mass on Monday.
Mass of Christian Burial: Celebrated on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City, Michigan, with Father Loc Trinh as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Anne's Cemetery in Paris.
