BRIGHAM CITY – Ronald Allen,61. passed away on Friday, October 30, 1998, at his home in Brigham City from cancer.

He was born on December 2, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Elmer Weldon and Sarah LaVeda Workman Allen.

Ron married his sweetheart, Kay Constance (Connie) Jones on June 1, 1957, in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 24, 1963.

He was an active member of the LDS church, where he was currently a high priest. Ron served in numerous callings, ward clerk, home teacher, scoutmaster and Sunday school teacher.

Ron was a member of the Jaycees and treasurer for the Republican Party.

He had a great respect for all of God's creations, on earth and in the sky. Camping, fishing and hunting were his joy. He loved to learn and shared his knowledge with others.

A gifted engineer, and accomplished sportsman, and a born green-thumb, he repaired family cars, hiked many hills, enjoyed deer and elk harvests, and cultivated a beautiful backyard.

He shared his love of music and his powerful voice with his family, friends, and church.

He had worked for Sperry-Rand Corporation, Hill Air Force Base and retired from Thiokol after 36 years of service as a Quality Control Project Engineer.

Ron's most important role was that of husband, father, and grandpa. He unfailingly provided for his family and cared for his wife, children and his precious grandchildren. He was also a "dad" to many of his children's friends and the children in his neighborhood.

Surviving is his wife, Connie of Brigharn City; seven children; Ronald Scott Allen of Brigham City: Kathleen Kay (Geno) Migliori of Layton; Richard Floyd (Lorri) Allen; Gregg Weldon Allen; Laura Beth Allen; Joseph Stanley Allen and Thomas Evan Allen all of Brigham City; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Also surviving is his mother, Sarah Laveda Allen of Ogden; one brother, Gary Allen of Ogden; three sisters, Carol (Max) James of Bountiful; Patricia Larsen of Ogden; Sandra Pettiway of Texas.

His father, sister and one grandson preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Brigham City 18th Ward Chapel.

Interment was in the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors were accorded by the VFW #1695.
