She was born at Mt. Jackson, a daughter of J. N. and Virginia Ruby Allen. She was united in marriage to Mr. Buchanan in 1926.
She was an active member of the Manor Memorial Methodist Church, the Pythian Sisters and the Fire Company Auxiliary. Mrs. Buchanan was well known and loved by a wife circle of friends.
Beside her husband, she is survived by a son, Stanley Buchanan of Shenandoah, two daughters, Mrs. Geneva See, Broadway and Mrs. Ruby Harpin, of Fort Belvoir; seven brothers, Robert Allen of Rockville, Md., Charles Allen, of Jersey City, N. J. , William Allen of Middletown, Va., George Allen of Hagerstown and Hugh Allen, of Mt. Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Stickley of Alexandria, Mrs. Madge Frye, of Mt. Jackson and Mrs. Elizabeth Burkholder of Enola, Pa.
Funeral services were held from the Manor Memorial Methodist Church.
Interment was in Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
