Sidebottom, Mrs. John D. (Allen, Melissa D.)  Melissa D. (Allen) Sidebottom died Jan 19, 1954 at age 84 years, 3 months, and 4 days.  She was born near Gladstone, Morgan county, Mo. on Oct 15, 1869.  Later she moved to Gravois Mills and Versailles.  On December 20, 1891 she was married to John W. Sidebottom. Of this union were born three children of which two survive.  Mrs. Sidebottom came to Washington, Mo in Sept. 1947 where she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law: Mr. & Mrs. John V. Buthad.  She was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church, Versailles, Mo.  Preceding her in death was one daughter Luelin, 18 months old and her husband.  Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. John V. (Dixie) Buthad of Washington, Mo and Mrs Sophie Hibdon of Gravois Mills, Mo.; two sisters: Mrs. Sally Landman of Hickman Mills Mo. and Mrs. Ann Sousley of Gravois Mills, Mo.;  three brothers: Nathan and Hamilton Allen of Versailles, Mo. and Wesley Allen of Eldon, Mo; e sons-in-law.  Funeral services wee held January 22, 1954, Nieburg & Vitt Funeral Home to Baptist Church in Versailles. Rev. Reginald D. Wash officiating. Interment in the Versailles cemetery.
