Services for Bobby Wesley Allen will be at 11a.m. on Saturday, July 14th at Christian Worship Center located at 6101 Masonic Dr., Alexandria. Ministers Dan Craig, Jimmy Harris and Gregory White officiating.
The burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Progressive Funeral Home.
Mr. Bobby W. Allen age 63 of Colfax, Louisiana departed this life at 11:30 p.m. July 6, in his residence. Mr. Allen was a loving husband, father, grand-father, brother, cousin, and friend. He was a devoted member and usher at Christian Worship Center for 12 years. He retired in 1990 from United Parcel Service as a driver. He served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a disabled Vietnam veteran. Mr. Allen also graduated from Mary E. Graham High School, class of 1967. He attended Grambling State University and was a football player. Mr. Allen was a board member for Grant Parish Fire Department, a member of Veteran of Foreign War, a member of Disabled American Veterans Association and a member of Grambling Legends.
Mr. Allen loved his Lord and Savior and his family unconditionally. He never once met a stranger. His philosophy in life was based on the theory that if he could help somebody as he passed along, his living would not be in vain. He strived to bring his family closer together and spent endless hours appreciating his grandchildren.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents Laura Nash Allen and Thomas Allen, six siblings; James Allen, Joseph Allen, Jerry Allen, Samaster Allen, Emma Kimble, and Nodie Sewell.
To cherish his many fond memories he leaves his wife of forty-four years Gwendolyn Clark Allen; two sons Bobby Cornell Allen and Byron Allen; daughter Samona La'Rose Allen; three sisters, Gladys Morris, Elizabeth Langes, and Rebecca White; three brothers, Willie Allen, George Allen, and Grover Fren Allen; four grandchildren Amyra Connor-Allen Purvis, Wesley Ahmad Allen, Braylon Elijah Allen, and Samuel Allen Dixon. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Viewing will be at the church from 9:00AM until time of service.
