Five people were killed when a tornado ripped through East Bernstadt, Kentucky.

The fatalities were:
Ethel Pruitt;
Wilburn Pitman and Virginia "Lizzie" Pitman of Old Hare Road; and Sherman Wayne Allen and Debbie Allen of Little Arthur Ridge Road.


Debbie Lynn Allen age 48, wife of the late Sherman Dewayne Allen of Little Arthur Ridge Road, East Bernstadt, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at her residence. She was the mother of Lachrista Brock and husband Jay and Eric Allen all of London, Kentucky, the daughter of Cassie Smith Gray of Manchester, Kentucky, the sister of Sharon Bard of Greenville, Kentucky and Patricia Howard of Lexington, Kentucky. Funeral services for Debbie Lynn Allen will be conducted Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Sill Lee, Scotty Jewell, Charlie Martin and Ebb Potter officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park. The family of Debbie Lynn Allen will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to London Funeral Home toward funeral expenses.
