PONTIAC - Florence B. Allen, 93, a resident of Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, formerly of the Sterling-Rock Falls area, died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 9, 1991) at the lodge.
She was born Aug. 25, 1898, at Prophetstown, the daughter of Charles and Sophia Scharff Backer. She married Harold E. Allen Feb. 28, 1920, at Sterling. He died May 10, 1976.

Survivors include one daughter, Fern E. Pettit, Pontiac; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

preceding her in death: Her parents; Her Husband Harold;Four sisters and four brothers .
A homemaker, she was educated in Whiteside County schools.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pontiac, and a former member of the Eastern Star.

She was cremated. Her private memorial service will be at Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, the Rev. Tom Petty officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Sterling. There will be no visitation. Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of local arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
