American Falls, Idaho: Darlene Allen Baird (72) passed away March 27, 1913 at her home in American Falls.

Funeral services will be held in the American Falls LDS Church located at 111 Church Pl. at 11:00 am Monday April 1, 2013.The viewing will be held from 9:00 am till 10:30 am in the chapel prior to the services. Interment will follow at Grove City Cemetery.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Richard Baird; three sons, Michael (Nancy) Baird, James (Chandra) Baird and Daniel Baird; two daughters, Barbara (Lonnie) Lewis and Joan (Kim Deceased) Phillips; and three brothers, Erwin (Yvonne) Allen, Dean (Verlene) Allen and Kenneth (Annette) Allen. At her passing she had 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Isolene Allen; a sister, June Marie; and a grandson, Connelly Baird.

Darlene was born September 20, 1940 and grew up on a farm in Wapello, Idaho where she attended school in the Blackfoot School system.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Portland, Oregon and Idaho Falls, Idaho Temples for over 13 years. With her husband she served two missions for the Church, one in the Canada Toronto East Mission and as a Construction Finance Missionary serving in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Darlene met her husband, Dick Baird, while attending high school. This began a 58 plus years of togetherness, very seldom being apart for any length of time. They were married 56 plus years prior to her passing.

Family prefers donations be made to LDS Perpetual Education Fund in care of Joan Phillips, 2356 Fairview Road, American Falls, ID 83211.
