Eliab Metcalf Allen, son of Dea. Samuel and Julietta (Metcalf) Allen, was born June 16, 1818, in Medway. After leaving school he was a clerk for several years in Norwich, Conn., and in Worcester, Mass. Afterwards he studied dentistiy with his brother, and in 1845 went to Georgia. He married, Aug. 5, 1847, Eliza C. Park, of Greensboro', Ga., and resided in Marietta, Ga. His only son was a dentist and died in 1S77.
