Donald "Donnie" Warren Allen, Sr.
(April 19, 1956 - October 24, 2007)

Mr. Donald "Donnie" Allen, Sr., 51, of Waycross died Wednesday morning at Satilla Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Lewis Allen and Evelyn Smith Allen. Mr. Allen had made Waycross his home for most of his life. He worked for the Ware County Sheriff's Department as a Detention Officer at the Ware County Jail. He also spent time as a truck driver. He loved spending time with his family especially, his grandchildren.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Anna Allen of Waycross, a son, Kyle Preston Allen and his wife Amanda of Waycross, a daughter, Shannon Goddard and her husband Michael of Waycross, two step-sons, Jeremy Keith Norris and his wife Kerissa of Bristol, Christopher Wayne Norris and his wife Rebecca of North Carolina, his grandchildren, Nichole Goddard, Jade Goddard, Aaron Goddard, Haileigh Allen, Jenna Norris, Madelyn Norris, all of Waycross, Hayden Norris, Tanner Norris of North Carolina, four brothers, Wayne Allen and his wife Sheila, Bobby Allen and his wife Lynn, Tommy Allen and his wife Donna all of Waycross, Richard Allen and his wife Linda of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two sisters, Marie Musgrove and her husband Ronnie of Waycross, Carolyn Courson and her husband Bobbie of Blackshear, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery in Blackshear. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-9 pm, at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home. Members of the Ware County Sheriffs Department have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and should gather at the funeral home by 10:45 pm, Saturday.
