She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Allen; her parents, Asa Joseph and Elizabeth Sexton Barker; six brothers and three sisters.
After a successful career in hotel management, Tina began a tour company called Allen's Travel Company. She and Everett were active in the Elks Lodge and Tina was crowned Queen numerous times. This was based on her amazing ability to raise money for charities. They moved to Georgetown in 1987 and continued their involvement in the Elks Lodge.
Tina became a volunteer at Riverhaven Nursing Home, The Caring Place, and Handcrafts Unlimited. She was a generous gracious lady who loved to serve others and found ways to do so.
After Everett's death in l997, Tina moved to Sun City where she immediately made many friends. She was involved in a weekly canasta club and enjoyed her "canasta ladies." The Walk Across America fitness program was special to Tina, and she organized and participated in the program each year until recently. She enjoyed walking, dancing, crafts, and flowers,
One of Tina's favorite accomplishments was her participation in the Sun City Georgettes which entertained groups throughout the area.
Tina was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown and of the Joy Life Group.
Survivors include her daughter, Dyanne Jackson of Austin; her son, Tony Lyerly and his wife, Linda, of Reno, Nevada; three granddaughters, Jacqueline Reid, Rebecca McKee, Alexandra Jackson; and one grandson, Chris Lyerly; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Others left to cherish her memory are her very special friend, Stan Pulley; longtime neighbor and friend, Martha Robbins and her husband, Jim; Bob and Jane Jones and members of the Joy Life Group at FBCgT.
Pallbearers will be Joe Barber, Joe Cariker, Bob Jones, Kirby Matlack, Jim Robbins, Carl Von Merz.
